Evan currently attends Bowdoin College, and is from Chicago. He loves to work with any and all natural subjects, living or inanimate. Evan is also accomplished in travel, street, event, portrait, and sports photography. He especially enjoys photographing birds because of their widespread accessibility, vast diversity, and sheer beauty. Through his photography, Evan hopes to further raise awareness of our planet's many environmental issues and to share the beauty he sees with others, opening a window into the natural world for all.

Evan has received international recognition for his photography. The BBC Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition named him Winner of his age category in 2007. His winning image was later selected for inclusion in Wild Planet - an outdoor, travelling exhibit featuring the favorite images from the Competition over the past 20 years. Evan was also Highly Commended in the same competion in 2006, and attended the awards ceremony and opening of the exhibit of winning images at the Natural History Museum in London. The North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) named him one of their High School Scholarship Recipients in 2006. Evan's images have appeared in many publications, spanning across nearly all forms of medium.

Evan recently completed a project photographing daily life and work at the Bowdoin Scientific Station on Kent Island. To view a selection of these images, or to learn more about his project, please visit his Kent Island gallery.

As of now, Evan's photographic work is exclusively digital. He primarily uses the Canon EOS system, but is very familiar with the Nikon DSLR system as well.
